I did a lot of research before coming in the other month to buy this scooter, but you never know how accurate what you hear from other people's posts online well be. The people at Eevee's were really knowledgeable and not in an annoying "I just want to upsell you on shit and will say anything I need to even if it isn't completely true" way.
The scooter itself is great. I'm extremely impressed with the battery life. I also figured out a bit of a "trick" to get the most out of the highest regenerative braking setting. On the highest setting, if you let go of the throttle, the electric regen brake automatically engages to slow you down, but not as much as if you actually use the brake handle to engage both brakes. This is really useful for going down hills. In general, if I slow down by easing off the throttle before I actually squeeze the brake handle, I seem to get a lot more out of the regenerative braking and it can make a big difference if I have to slow down or stop a lot during a commute.
I do find that the electric regen brake can be a bit "buggy". Sometimes it sticks a bit after I let go of the brake handle and usually I have to give it another squeeze and let go to get it to fully disengage. But this has never been a big issue.
If you have really big feet like I do (11 womens), the deck is just a bit too narrow , but that's also more of a small thing.
It would also have been nice if it had just a little suspension. Either that or some form of shock absorption on the deck. If you ever have to ride on a dirt\gravel path or side walks that are in very bad shape, it can get pretty rough. Yes, I know you're not supposed to ride on sidewalks, but there are roads in Richmond without bike paths and there is no way in hell I'm riding next to those drivers! I always slow down to a walking pace or just walk the scooter if I see people ahead of me on the sidewalk.
One thing I could not find advertised anywhere online, but that is shown on the sticker on the scooter is that while the external areas of the scooter are IPX6 rated, the internal components are IPX7. The sticker actually lists IPX7 as the rating rather than IPX6. This puts it right in line with the InMotion S1F for listed IPXX rating, but the S1F doesn't have the best track record for water resistance (if you google it, you can find instances of people who didn't modify the scooter at all who ended up with water damage from riding in light rain).
The scooter is slightly on the heavy side at about 40lbs, but it is damn *sturdy*. The build quality is the best I've seen on electric kick scooters and even the "hinge" areas that fold are very sturdy.
It could use a bigger or brighter rear light with more reflective strips facing directly behind, but finding reflective tape for this purpose is very easy. The front light also has a really narrow area, which can get a little annoying in the dark. It would be nice if it illuminated a bit farther ahead, but otherwise the light is nice and bright.
If you're closer to the high end of the rider weight limit like I am, don't worry about it. Even with a heavy backpack I don't have any problems and still get max speeds and just around the advertised battery life with regen braking active.
